  1. Take 1 cup fresh yoghurt (should not be sour)
  2. Take 1 cup finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
  3. Take 2 tbsp ginger paste

  5. Get 3 tbsp garam masala
  6. Get 6 peppercorns
  7. Make ready 3 tbsp lemon juice

  10. Get 1 large onion cut into very thin rings
  11. Prepare 1 Lime/ Lemon wedges to garnish
  12. Take 1 tsp Chaat Masala (available at most Indian groceries)
Steps to make Chicken Tikka:
  1. rind the chopped coriander (keep some aside for garnishing) and all other marinade ingredients (except yoghurt) to a smooth paste in a food processor.
  2. Pour the above mix into a large bowl and add yoghurt.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and mix well.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate.
  6. Allow to marinate overnight.
  7. Thread the chicken onto skewers and keep ready.
  8. Preheat your oven or grill to a medium high temperature (200 C/ 400F/ Gas Mark 6) or you can grill.
  9. Place the skewers on the grill racks in your oven with a tray underneath to catch drippings.
  10. Roast open till the chicken is browned on all sides and tender.
  11. Remove from skewers and put the chicken in a plate.
  12. Put the onion rings in a separate bowl and squeeze lime juice over them.
  13. Now sprinkle the chaat masala over them and mix well so the onions are fully coated.
  14. Garnish the Chicken Tikka with these onion rings and serve.
  15. Ready to serve and ENJOY!
